About the event

Call of the Wild Series

It is unimaginable to think how many shades of colours Nature offers from the earthy tones, to electric colours that act as warnings or attraction.

This week we explore the different colours and tones that plants offer up as natural colour and dye.

You don't have to dig very far to find information on the harmful chemicals that are used in mass producing and artifically colouring clothes. This workshops aims to offer an alternative, and adorne each participant with a scarf that is dyed in the colours of the Earth, resting in assurance that it has done no harm to the planet, the waters, or you.

And as if that wasn't good enough, plant dye material will be gathered from what was destined to be going to the landfill! These precious colours would ordinarily been thrown in the waste bin, and now they will offer up their colours, then be composted back to the Earth.

This workshop will be held on private grounds, in a secluded valley on the hills of Lantau where we will be heating the natural colours with our own primitive fire.

There will be access to washrooms and water refills during the day.

We invite participants to bring their own lunches and snacks for the workshop.

Due to additional costs in preparing ethically sourced garments, registration prices have been adjusted slightly to ensure costs are covered for drop in rates.

The Call of the Wild series offers 10 weeks of workshops on Earth Skills and Nature Connection Guidance. Each week we offer a different focus, with participants opting to join packages of 5 weeks or 10 weeks, with a limited number of drop in sessions available for one off attendees.

1 session drop-in rate: HK$700 - HK$780

Set of 5 sessions: HK$2,500

Set of 10 sessions: HK$5,500

The series is designed to build on from previous skills gained from joining over a period of time, which deepens connection, practice, and the community of people who gather together in learning these skills.
